"Market"

An additional member of the Family...

Last, last day my youngest brother brought with him a kitten which he said he almost hit with a motorbike, just an inch from the wheel in the market (oh so lucky).

It seems that it was abandoned or thrown away so he brought it home and gave it to us.

It's a male kitten. He was so skinny and so delicate to touch with big eyes and big ears. He's so pitiful so we adopt him and we called him "Market" obviously because he was found in the market place.

Though he looks like "Gremlin", he he he, now he gives joy to us.

He found comfort on the lap of my Teddy Bear and became his favorite bed. They camouflage.

"Fire Power" - Pacquiao & Cotto Match

Thanks to all videos shared by GMA News.TV

Yesterday the usual traffic was gone, the streets and Hi ways were quiet, moving cars were few.

It seems that the time stooped for the Filipinos yesterday.
And sad to say, fewer than the usual number of people were seen at churches late yesterday morning (Sunday).

Why????

It's because Manny Pacquiao and Puerto Rican Miguel Cotto battled in the ring... They called it "Fire Power". A battle for World Boxing Organization Welter Weight Crown.

Almost motorist and drivers stopped in small stores or even in appliance stores just to watched the event. Every house or big theaters, gymnasiums, and police precincts, their screens viewed only one program and channel, and that's the "Pacquiao - Cotto Boxing Event".

In Camp Aguinaldo, thousand of military officers and enlisted personnel and their families watched the match at the AFP(Armed Forces of the Phils.) Gym. The defense and military establishments threw their full support to Manny Pacquiao. Manny is a Sergeant Major of the Army's Reserve Force.

The Filipinos were not disappointed. Manny won the fight against Cotto by TKO.
He won the record seventh division title. WBO Welter Weight Belt or Crown,
and earned US$13 million from the Mega fight (woooh, that's a lot of money)
more or less P611,000,000 in Phil currency.
But Manny said and admits, victory over Cotto was not easy.

Me, personally, I don't like the Boxing Sports because this sports really can hurt others. My father died after watching the boxing event last 25 years ago. (He watched, slept and never wakes up.)

And the news yesterday said that another 5 Filipinos in different provinces died too,
due of heart attack or cardiac arrest, because of to much excitements while watching the
event on screen.

This sports really hurts people unintentionally.
2 days before the big event, another Filipino boxer Z Gorres won the title too, but sad to say after he won, he collapsed and rush to the UMC Hospital of Las Vegas, Nevada, due to the big punch he received from his opponents ( a Colombian Boxer -Luis Melendez) during the last round. He got internal hemorrhage on his head. 'Till now he's unconscious

Lots of politicians and celebrities went to the event and watched like the Oscar nominated actor Mickey Rourke and Mark Wahlbreg, Veteran actor Joe Pesci, socialite Paris Hilton, R & B Artisan Sean "P. Diddy" Combs, comedian Will Ferrell and Jeremy Piven.

Former boxing champion Roberto Duran and Tommy " The Hitman" Hearns, Chad Dawson, Shane Mosley, Brandon Jacobs, Derek Jeter, and Magic Johnson.

Phil. Vice Pres. Noli de Castro, First Gentleman Mike Arroyo, Deputy National Security Adviser and former Ilocos Sur Gov. Luis "Chavit" Singson,Mayor Bing Leonardia, and many many more celebrities and socialites.

Lots of merchandised souvenirs of the mega fight were sold out like, T-shirts, head gears,
sleepers, stuff toys, posters, jackets, bags, and backpack.

After the fight the fan's and the group of Manny Pacquiao held a party with mini concert in Event Center in Mandalay Bay. He even (Pacman or Manny) participated in the concert and sung several songs though his body still in pain and his face has lot of bruises and swollen.

Thanks to Manny Pacquiao, once again he made the Filipinos proud.

Undas 2009

Undas or Todos Los Santos or Araw ng mga Patay (Day of the Dead)

Nov. 1 - All Saint's Day and Nov. 2 - All Soul's Day. These are the days when the family member
gather together and visit the grave or tomb of their deceased relatives and friends.

We cleaned and repainted the tomb and then put some flowers and lit candles as many as we wanted and pray.

It's my mother's grave and the front view

It's like a camping site. You can see that every family build thier own tent and spent all day and night on the tomb of their beloved. Bringing along some foods to eat, game cards and board, PSP and Ipods.

Our back view

Me and my kids came here after hearing a mass.
In this photo.. my youngest bro. in front, my children and some nephew and niece.
No photos of other family because they are shy and my daughter told me to stop
taking photos 'coz she said I might capture some ghost, then everybody laughed.

And my camera shy, only son.

Some time ago, others were used to drink alcohol and brought loud sounds but now it's prohibited because it cost lots of trouble.

Before the holiday comes, you can see in the market, flower shops, even at the plaza, lot's of different flowers are flooded for sale but the prices are raised sometimes double or triple especial now that several typhoons struck Phils.

And traffic everywhere because again like "Christmas Time and Holy Week Holidays", it' time for those working and living apart, to back home to their provinces.

I lifted these videos from GMA NEWS (many thanks)

After the typhoon(God thanks it ended soon) People started to went to the cemeteries.
Some tomb were destroyed. Police personnel strictly watch and confiscate some deadly
weapons and liquors and guide the people peacefully.

At the gate of North Cemetery.

Even at night time, still people rush to the cemetery.

In Manila South Cemetery , people just used a ladder to the wall to short cut. this is where my father buried. I can't visit him now but some of my brother and sister will go there.

Seems that in Quezon province, people are still happy celebrating the holiday even the typhoon struck them badly.

Some cemetery were still flooded or under water.
